How we met...

Even though Katie and Mike attended the same elementary, middle, and high school they did not know each other at the time. It wasn't until after college that the two were introduced by a mutual friend. However, that initial introduction was very brief.  A year passed before the two would meet again. It may have been fate or just dumb luck, but Mike knew he couldn't let a second chance with the girl of his dreams pass him by. So he asked her out and on March 7,2012 they went on their first date. 

They were always able to be themselves...

As time passed Katie and Mike realized not only how happy they make one another, but how they could do so by just being themselves. Their differing personalities worked seamlessly together. Looking from the outside people would wonder, "How does that work? They're so different. She has such an outgoing, boisterous personality and he's so much quieter and reserved." But for these two it was effortless. A perfect balance of ying and yang. A balance that allowed them to not only be true to themselves, but to be their true selves to one another. This same balance is behind the most spectacular part of their relationship.  It created an atmosphere where they learned from each other, challenged one another, and ultimately became better versions of themselves than they could ever imagine.

Anything you can do, I can do better...

One of Katie and Mike's many differences is their allegiance to rival baseball teams. Katie is a true Yankees fan, she sheds a few tears when saying goodbye to the players at the end of every season. Mike is a true Red Sox fan, he sheds a few tears when they're in last place half way through the season. This spirited rivalry has led them to bet on every game, whether it's for chores or massages, and brought a new level of excitement to a game they both love.  

This level of competition spills into most activities the two take part in. Yard games, board games, or even a game of mini golf, neither will ever "let" the other one win. Many nights have been spent having a single game escalate to , best 2 of 3, then 4  of 7, and so on.

And now for the best part...

Over time Katie and Mike's relationship evolved into something more than either could have ever imagined. They became so much more than two people who loved each other. The only way to accurately describe it is they became best friends. They are the backbone of each others support system, the driving force behind every achievement, and the voice of reason in their moral compasses. They've been through so much, both good and bad, and have always been by each other's side.
